New Delhi: Team India has strengthened its hold on the second and final Test match being played between India and Sri Lanka at the Sinhalese Sports Club. On the second day of this match, which was repeatedly interrupted due to rain, the Indian team declared its first innings on a huge score of 503 runs at the loss of nine wickets. In response, till the end of the day's play, host Sri Lanka had a very bad start and lost two important wickets for a total of just 8 runs. The Indian team has taken a 1-0 lead in the series by registering a spectacular win in the first Test, so this decisive match seems to be completely in favor of the guests.
Padikkal and Captain Gill took charge
KL Rahul and Jaiswal returned to the pavilion till the score of 66 runs. Rahul contributed eighteen runs and Jaiswal contributed 45 runs. Padikkal took the responsibility on his shoulders and along with captain Shubman Gill, managed the innings very well.

Pant was out after scoring 63 runs, but Jurel stood firm till the end and proved his talent by scoring an unbeaten 115 runs. For the host team, Asitha Fernando took the maximum 4 wickets, while Prabhat Jayasuriya and Keshara Nuwantha took two wickets each.
Sri Lanka disintegrates under the pressure of huge score
The start of the Sri Lankan team, which came to bat under the pressure of a mountain-like score, was like a nightmare. By the end of the day's play, the host team could play only three overs and during this they lost two wickets for eight runs. Fast bowler Prasidh Krishna gave the first blow by sending Lahiru Udara to the pavilion cheaply.
