Only Pro models and foldable iPhones in September?
Until now, Apple used to present all the models of its new series together. But in 2026 the company will first focus on its most expensive and premium smartphones.
- Delay till 2027: The cheaper and standard iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e models may be pushed back to spring 2027.
- Option for customers: If users want to buy a new iPhone in September itself, they will have to increase the budget and go straight to the Pro model or the foldable model.
What new features will be available in iPhone 18 Pro?
The exterior design of the iPhone 18 Pro may remain the same as previous Pro models, but the display and internal hardware will see major upgrades:
- Small Dynamic Island: Some of the sensors of Face ID can be shifted inside the screen (under-display Face ID), so that the size of the Dynamic Island will be smaller and the screen will appear more open.
- A20 Pro 2nm Chipset: The phone will feature the first A20 Pro chipset built on the 2nm process. This will increase processor speed while reducing battery consumption and provide excellent performance for Apple Intelligence (AI) and gaming.
- 12GB RAM and C2 Modem: One can get 12GB RAM for advanced AI tasks and smooth multitasking and a new C2 modem to improve network connectivity.
Variable aperture technology in Pro Max cameras
The main camera of iPhone 18 Pro Max may come with ‘Variable Aperture’ technology. The lens will automatically adjust exposure to different lighting conditions, giving users more precise control over background blur in low-light photography and portrait shots.
Chances of a big price hike
The iPhone 18 Pro may see a price hike due to the rising cost of hardware parts, memory components and the new 2nm chip. According to reports, the starting price of the iPhone 18 Pro in the US market may go up to $1,199.
