America is tough to destroy Iran. Washington imposes tougher sanctions on Tehran. On Monday, US Treasury Secretary Scott Besant announced that all countries and institutions that help Tehran launder money could be cut off from the US dollar system. He warned, “Sever all ties with Iran immediately. Otherwise sanctions will be imposed on you too.”
Besant said in a press conference that day, “Iran is making money through all the economic sources and avoids the US sanctions. This decision is to stop them. Washington's goal is to cut off Tehran's financial lifeline. To force all the countries and institutions that do business with Tehran to reconsider their relationship with Iran.” He added, “We will destroy all the economic resources that Iran's authoritarian regime still relies on, so that the country will be completely isolated.” However, the US Treasury Secretary did not mention the name of any specific country or organization.
It is good to say that one of the biggest partner countries of Iran are China, Türkiye, United Arab Emirates etc. Needless to say, after six months of war, the main objective of this new American move is to destroy Iran's economy. Besant clearly stated that those countries that do not join this ban will also be isolated like Iran. Incidentally, there has been economic pressure on Tehran for a long time. In addition to US sanctions, inflation, negative growth in the economy and the war situation have gradually increased the pressure on the riyal. The situation worsened after the war started on February 28. The Iranian currency has fallen to rock bottom following the six-month-long war.
