Arvind Kejriwal said that due to diversion of sugarcane to make ethanol, the price of sugar increased from Rs 45 to Rs 70. On one hand sugar is becoming expensive and on the other hand people's vehicles are getting damaged due to E-20. This is the first government in the country which imposes its decisions on the public without assessing the results.
Mileage reduced significantly
Arvind Kejriwal, who is on Goa tour, said in a press conference on Monday that due to E-20 petrol, the engines and fuel systems of people's vehicles are getting damaged and the mileage has reduced considerably. Sugarcane equivalent to about 25 lakh tonnes of sugar has been diverted for ethanol production. For this reason, sugar prices have increased across the country. On July 31, sugar in the country was Rs 45 per kg, but now it has crossed Rs 70. Within a month, the price of sugar has increased by Rs 25 per kg. This shows that Modi government is a government of completely illiterate people.
People are also unhappy because of petrol
Arvind Kejriwal said that when the central government started diverting sugarcane for ethanol, its experts should have at least calculated how much sugar shortage it would cause and where that sugar would come from. Now sugar has become expensive and people are also unhappy because of adulterated petrol. There is no foreign currency left in the country. The government claimed that foreign exchange would be saved by reducing petrol and using ethanol, but now we are importing sugar and maize with the same foreign currency. The whole country is sad because of petrol and sugar has also become expensive. Such a stupid government would never have come in 75 years.
People's voice will reach far and wide
Arvind Kejriwal told that on Tuesday afternoon at 3 pm, we are holding a town hall on the issue of E20 in this same hall in Goa. Everyone came to the town hall. The voice of the public will reach far and wide. Only when we all fight together will we have to listen to these people. We all will have to come together and demand from the government, because Modi government listens only when everyone comes together and demands.
