New Delhi. Three newborns have died in a fire in the children's ward (NICU) at the Government Women's Hospital in Amravati district of Maharashtra. It is being told that this accident happened due to ventilator burst. In this incident, six newborn children have suffered burn injuries and are undergoing treatment at the Super Specialty Hospital. State Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has expressed grief over this painful incident. CM said that the news of death of newborn children is very sad and heartbreaking. We share the grief of the affected families. The administration has been ordered to conduct a high-level investigation into this incident. Strictest action will be taken against those responsible for this incident.
CM Fadnavis said that both the Health Minister and the Secretary have been instructed to go to Amravati. The state government will provide financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh to the families of the deceased. Amravati District Collector has also been instructed to provide treatment to the injured children at government expense. Let us tell you that when this accident happened, there were a total of 39 children in the hospital, out of which 36 children were saved safely. However, six children have suffered burn injuries and have been admitted to a nearby super-specialty hospital. This incident happened around 3.30 in the night.

As soon as the fire broke out in NICU, there was an atmosphere of chaos in the hospital. The nurses of the hospital risked their lives to save the children. Without caring for themselves, the nurses were successful in pulling out the newborn babies one by one from the fire. State government minister Prakashrao Abitkar said, this incident is very unfortunate. However, the health department staff made every effort to save all the children and were successful in saving 36 children.
