Game Desk: Young leg-spinner Zeeshan Ansari, who is spreading the magic of his spin in the UP T20 League 2026, is in tremendous form these days. Playing for the Meerut Mavericks team captained by Rinku Singh, he has performed brilliantly and has become the most successful bowler of the tournament by taking 14 wickets in just six matches. He gives credit for the team's invincible and brilliant performance to the positive atmosphere of the camp and the excellent coordination between the players.
Although Zeeshan is currently making waves in white-ball cricket, his ambitions are not limited to this only. He was selected in India A's red-ball squad for the Sri Lanka tour after taking 21 wickets for Uttar Pradesh in the 2025–26 Vijay Hazare Trophy. The experience of bowling with the Kookaburra ball there has further matured his long format game. He believes that there is a difference in the nuances of bowling in white-ball and red-ball cricket, which he is continuously learning.
The experience of joining Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the IPL and sharing the dressing room has also strengthened his mindset. Even though he may not have got many opportunities in the playing eleven this season, he has considered it a great opportunity to learn. Instead of giving preference to any one format, Zeeshan wants to take full advantage of every opportunity. His ultimate and biggest goal is to represent the country in all formats for the senior Indian team for a long time.
