New Delhi. The Yogi government of UP has provided a big gift to the elderly women of the state. Now women aged 60 years or above will be able to travel free for life in UP Roadways buses. For this they will not have to take any ticket. This proposal has got the green signal in the cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. UP Transport Minister Dayashankar Singh said that about one crore mothers and sisters of the state will benefit from this decision. Women will have to show Aadhaar or voter card for age verification. Apart from this, 23 other important proposals were also passed in the cabinet meeting.
Other important decisions of Yogi cabinet
– UP Transport Department has been given approval to purchase 250 electric buses at a cost of Rs 425 crore. Some of these buses will be 42-seater and some 52-seater models.
– The stipend received by MBBS students of various medical colleges of the state government during internship has been increased. Stipend has been increased from Rs 12000 to Rs 25000.
– The cabinet has also approved the proposal for expansion of UP's longest Ganga Expressway. Ganga Expressway will be extended from Bijnor to Haridwar. This work will cost Rs 10,761 crore.
– IMLC will be developed in Sultanpur at a cost of about Rs 272.25 crore under the Industrial Corridor Scheme.
– The proposal to develop industrial cluster near Purvanchal Expressway has been approved.
– The development proposal of Jhansi Link Expressway Project has been passed. Its construction is expected to cost approximately Rs 7,968.30 crore. This expressway will be 106 kilometers long and will be connected to Bundelkhand Expressway.
– Students who were not able to apply for scholarship in the year 2025-26 will get another chance for it and about 3.16 lakh additional students will benefit from it.
– A new corporation will be formed to further strengthen the system related to the maintenance of parents and senior citizens. If a child does not take care of his parents, the process of evicting him from the property will be made simple and effective. A system will be made to lodge complaints through toll free numbers. Despite the order, if the child does not vacate the property of his parents, the administration will take action within 30 days.
