Why did Yash Chopra not pay fees to Akshay?
According to sources, Yash Chopra had initially considered casting Jackie Shroff for the role, but later chose Akshay Kumar as he wanted to give a youthful look to the character.
After the release of the film, when Akshay talked about his fees, Yash Chopra reportedly said that he should be grateful to be a part of the film.
Controversy over cutting hair short
Akshay Kumar was angry with this incident. Reports say that he did not work with Yash Raj Films for almost 11 years. Later, the two worked together in 'Tashan'.
Apart from this, the makers had also expressed their desire to cut Akshay's hair short, but at that time Akshay was known for his long hair in the 'Khiladi' series films and he refused to get the haircut.
Akshay's statement on not receiving payment
This controversy was not confirmed by Akshay Kumar or the Chopra family. In 2014, in a conversation with Ghazal Alagh, an entrepreneur, Akshay, without naming anyone, said that when someone cheats on him, he stops talking to that person. He also told that some producers had not paid him, which he considered to be fraud.
