The reaction of the leaders has come to light on the statement given by New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani in protest against the program of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat to be held in Madison Square.
Maharashtra BJP president Amit Satam posted on
Amit Satam wrote, “It will take a lot of time for you to understand that organization which works for the betterment of humanity, nation-building and serving humanity without any discrimination of caste, creed, religion or gender, especially in times of crisis and disaster. In reality, this is respect for diversity whereas your thinking about diversity is distorted and biased and it is inclined towards a particular group or fundamentalist ideology!”
On New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani's comment on the RSS event, Shiv Sena spokesperson Shaina NC told IANS, “This is a hundred-year-old cultural organization which in its branches teaches people to use sticks and not AK-47. The question is, why is Zohran Mamdani so upset? There are more than 200 service projects of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh running in America, whether it is the time of storm or Covid.”
Shaina NC said, “The FBI has never called RSS an extremist organization, rather it has praised it. It is Mamdani who started the 'stop Hindu hatred' or 'start Hindu hatred' debate. Understand that this is your America, where you allow Khalistanis to protest, where you support Hamas.”
BJP MP Ghulam Ali Khatana told IANS, “Look, he (Mamdani) may have given this statement for his local politics. Otherwise, RSS is one of the most disciplined organizations in the world, which is working for the health and well-being of millions of people. It inculcates the passion to work for the country without greed.”
BJP leader Nalin Kohli told IANS, “I heard Mamdani talking in the media. On one hand he talks about pluralism and says big things about it, while on the other hand he is saying that Mohan Bhagwat's rally should not be held and is opposing it.
If they talk about pluralism, then they should have no problem in holding Mohan Bhagwat's rally. While talking about pluralism, you cannot take a position which is completely contrary to it.”
