Five people died and one was seriously injured in a terrible road accident that took place late Tuesday night in Pipra police station area of Supaul district of Bihar. The accident occurred near Bajrangbali Temple on the side of NH-327E near Kataiya Chowk.
About six people were performing kirtan here. At the same time, a speeding car crushed these people and entered a shop on the roadside about 50 meters ahead. Tilai Das (65), Raju Das (50), Surendra Yadav (45), Bhuvaneshwari Yadav alias Koyli Yadav and Krishna Mohan Sah died in the accident. All the deceased were residents of Kataiya Panchayat. Ramchandra Yadav is seriously injured. Tilai Das and Raju Das were residents of ward number 12 of Kataiya Panchayat, while Surendra Yadav was a resident of ward number 15, Bhuvaneshwari Yadav alias Koyli Yadav of ward number 11 and Krishna Mohan Sah was a resident of ward number 13. As soon as information about the accident was received, mourning spread in the houses of the deceased.
As soon as the information was received, the local police reached the spot and seized the vehicle that caused the accident. Police are investigating the cause of the accident. Late on Tuesday night, District Collector Sawan Kumar said that the Sub-Divisional Officer (SDM) has been sent to the spot and the police is taking necessary action.
There is an atmosphere of anger among the villagers due to the accident. On Wednesday morning the villagers started removing the temporary shops set up on the roadside near Kataiya Chowk. Villagers say that there is a constant danger of accidents due to encroachment and shops on the roadside. He has demanded that to avoid such incidents in future, the temporary shops situated on the roadside should be removed.
