Nepal Flood Tragedy : A sudden flood in the Bhotekoshi river in the morning of Rasuwa in Nepal has caused massive devastation. At least 160 people died and hundreds of tourists, laborers and others went missing in this tragedy. In this difficult time for Nepal, Indian PM Narendra Modi has spoken to Nepalese Prime Minister Balendra Shah.

PM Narendra Modi told in X Post late night that he spoke to Balendra Shah and expressed condolences to the people killed in the flood tragedy. He wrote, 'I spoke to Prime Minister Balendra Shah and expressed condolences to those who lost their lives in the floods in Nepal. In these difficult times, the people of India stand in solidarity with our brothers and sisters in Nepal. India is ready to provide all possible humanitarian assistance to Nepal. Our teams are working together for rescue and relief operations.
Let us tell you that 133 Indian tourists and more than 400 travelers and trekkers are among those missing after the sudden damkar in Nepal. At the same time, avalanche from the glacier is being considered as the possible cause of this tragedy. USGS investigation revealed that a large part of the mountain slipped and fell into the Lhende River in China on the Nepal-Tibet border. Due to this, the flow of the river stopped and after accumulation of water and debris suddenly a strong flow occurred. This event generated as much energy as a 5.2 magnitude earthquake. Water from Lhende reached Bhotekoshi river, causing floods.
According to news agency AP, the flood engulfed many settlements and traffic came to a standstill in some areas. Experts say that due to rising temperatures in the Himalayan region, avalanche from glaciers could be a possible reason for this.
