The South Korean automotive giant Kia India is all set to launch the Sorento hybrid 7-seater SUV in India on September 4th. Now, just before the official launch, the company has already unveiled this SUV. And to promote this SUV before it gets launched, Kia has been sharing ownership reviews of the Sorento from Indians who own this SUV but are living outside in other countries. So far, the company has shared three such videos, and here’s what the Indian owners of Kia Sorento living abroad have to say about it.
The first ownership review of the soon-to-be-launched Kia Sorento has been shared on YouTube by Kia India. It starts off with a man named Sandeep Kumar talking about his Sorento. Before talking about the SUV, he mentions that his grandparents arrived in the United Kingdom back in 1958, and he belongs to the third generation. Following which, he then mentions that the Kia Sorento is an essential part of his family.
He then mentions that the Sorento is a very versatile yet capable SUV and has been handling the unpredictable British weather amazingly. Kumar then adds that his Sorento was also used to go to a wedding with all 7 seats in use, and everyone was very comfortable. He concluded the video by highlighting that the Sorento offers a ton of safety features and smooth handling, and the overall ownership has been very pleasant.
In the second ownership review video shared by Kia, Nilesh Rawat, a long-time resident of Singapore, shares his personal journey as a Kia Sorento owner. He describes the vehicle as an essential part of his family’s daily life, significantly easing routine tasks such as school runs, trips to ballet practice, and office commutes. Rawat emphasizes that the car’s design and spacious seating for seven people provide a peaceful, comfortable, and royal experience, which makes it an ideal choice for family travel.
He also highlights the Kia Sorento’s advanced technological features, specifically the heads-up display and the 360-degree camera, which are very useful for parking and lane assistance. Rawat also points out the practical benefit of the ample boot space, which is large enough to hold a full-sized bicycle. The owner also mentions that he has suggested the Sorento to his sister, following news of its upcoming release in India as well.
Kia has recently shared another video in which the Sorento has been praised by its Indian owner. In this video, the owner, Mr. Prashanth, describes how the Kia Sorento Hybrid suits his family’s active lifestyle in Australia. He highlights that the SUV offers comfort and reliability during long road trips. Prashanth also praises the hybrid system for its efficiency during daily city driving and office commutes.
The owner also highlights that the spacious design and safety technology of the Sorento are also very good. He adds that it can easily accommodate camping gear, sports equipment, and groceries without compromising comfort. Prashanth concludes by stating that as the Sorento is arriving in the Indian market, it will be an ideal, compromise-free option for families looking for a capable and well-equipped vehicle.
As mentioned above, Kia India will be launching the Sorento on September 4th in India. It is expected to be priced in the range of Rs 30 to 45 lakh. The company will be offering this 7-seater premium SUV with two powertrain options. The first will be the 1.6-litre turbo-petrol engine paired with an electric motor and a six-speed automatic gearbox. This setup produces around 238 PS and 380 Nm of combined torque.
However, Kia is yet to reveal the final specifications of the India-spec model. Meanwhile, the other option will be the 2.2-litre turbo-diesel engine also seen in the Carnival. This powertrain will produce around 202 PS and 441 Nm of torque and will come paired with an automatic transmission. The Sorento diesel is expected to use an eight-speed automatic gearbox in India. Now, whether Kia offers AWD with the diesel remains unclear.
