Dead bodies flowing from Nepal to India, 3 dead bodies recovered in Maharajganj, UP

New Delhi: After the floods in Nepal, bodies of missing people have started being found in the Narayani (Gandak) river. The relief and rescue team of Sashastra Seema Bal has recovered three bodies from Narayani river in Maharajganj district of Uttar Pradesh. Among these dead bodies, two bodies are of women and one of man. Apart from this, about a dozen dead bodies have also been rescued and taken out in Nepal area, just three kilometers behind the Indian border. After the devastation in Nepal, the administration in India has also become fully prepared. As a precautionary measure, Indian villages situated on the banks of rivers flowing adjacent to Nepal are being evacuated since Wednesday.

All gates of Gandak Barrage opened

Maharajganj District Magistrate Gaurav Singh Sogarwal said that till 8 pm last night, about 1.5 lakh cusecs of water has been released from Nepal. In view of the huge rise in water level, all the gates of Gandak Barrage located in Valmikinagar have been opened. Teams of Revenue, Health, Forest Department as well as NDRF and SDRF have been kept ready to monitor the situation in coastal and sensitive villages. The district administration is continuously running search operations in the rivers using boats to search for the missing people and dead bodies coming from Nepal.

    Maharajganj District Magistrate Gaurav Singh Sogarwal said, 'About 1.5 lakh cusecs of water has been released in the night, after which our entire administration is deployed on the spot. Wood, plywood and home appliances are flowing from Nepal. People are trying to rescue them, hence they are being instructed not to enter the river and to remain alert. Along with this, the work of searching for the missing people is also going on continuously.

    At the same time, Sub Inspector SSB Arun Pandey said, 'Our rescue team has recovered three bodies (two women and one man) who were washed away due to the tragedy in Nepal. Apart from this, dozens of dead bodies have also been found in Nepal, three kilometers behind the Indian border. Our team is fully prepared to deal with any situation.
