Bihar: Now only one exam in BPSC TRE-4, agreement reached on 10 demands of students

There is news of great relief for the candidates preparing for teacher recruitment examination in Bihar. The state government has now decided to conduct the BPSC Teacher Recruitment Examination (TRE-4) in only one phase. That means candidates will not have to appear for preliminary and main examinations separately. Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary said that the government is taking the demands of the students seriously and many important decisions have been taken in their interest. The candidates were protesting with many demands including making TRE-4 a single stage. In the meeting held between the government and student representatives, 10 major issues were agreed upon. After this the student delegation decided to end their demonstration.

 

The government has also decided to withdraw the departmental letter number 162/Go issued on 24 August 2026 with immediate effect. Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary said in a social media post that this year the TRE-4 examination will be conducted in a single phase. According to the statement issued by the government, the demand to conduct the recruitment process through an examination has been accepted. Further action will be taken as per the rules on the principle of one candidate, one result.

Along with this, the demand of issuing calendar of recruitment examinations and strictly following it has also been accepted. BSSC will be asked to release the examination calendar soon and conduct recruitment examinations on time.

Expert committee will be formed for examination reform

The government has decided to form an expert committee under the chairmanship of a sitting judge of Patna High Court to improve the examination system. The committee will investigate the complaints related to the examination and the candidates will get an opportunity to present their evidence and suggestions. The next phase of Sub-Inspector recruitment examination for 1,799 posts will be started after the report of the committee comes. Apart from this, a proposal to increase transparency in question papers, OMR sheets and answer sheets will also be placed before the committee.

Consensus reached on 10 demands

  • TRE-4 recruitment will be done through a single examination. A candidate.
  • Complaints of irregularities in the examination will be investigated.
  • Recruitment will start on the vacant posts of librarian.
  • Consideration will be given to giving benefits in recruitment to contract employees.
  • A decision will also be taken on domicile policy.
  • The maximum age limit for recruitment will also be considered.
  • The calendar of recruitment examination will be issued and it will be followed.
  • Transparency will be increased in examinations like BPSC.
  • Investigation into the allegations of paper leak will continue.
  • The government and student representatives have together assured that transparency, fairness and accountability will be ensured in all future competitive examinations.
