The Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued red and orange alerts for many parts of the country, warning of the devastating form of monsoon.
The combination of monsoon trough and cyclonic pressure has spoiled the entire mathematics of India's weather. On August 28, there is a double threat of heavy rain, lightning and storm that will wreak havoc in many states simultaneously. The situation remains extremely sensitive in states like Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh and Odisha. Due to the spate of rivers, a situation of severe waterlogging has arisen in the low-lying areas of major cities like Dehradun, Nainital, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Bhopal, Jabalpur and Ranchi. On the other hand, catastrophic landslides and flash floods on hilly roads can completely bring life to a halt. The rising waves in the sea and the shadow of the looming storm clearly show that it will not be easy to escape from this devastation of nature.
How will the weather be in Uttar Pradesh?
The effect of rain and storm is clearly visible in many districts of Uttar Pradesh.
- To tie: Due to torrential rains in Banda, there has been severe waterlogging in low-lying areas, due to which normal traffic has been disrupted and the water level of rivers is rising rapidly.
- Jhansi: Thunderstorms and strong lightning continue in Jhansi district, due to which the administration has advised people to stay in safe places for tomorrow also.
- Prayagraj: Due to continuous rains in Prayagraj, there is a danger of flood looming and the low lying settlements of the city are flooded.
- Kanpur: Moderate to heavy rains along with strong winds and storm are being recorded in Kanpur. Similar situation will continue tomorrow also.
Danger looms over the mountains of Uttarakhand
The situation is worsening in the hilly state of Uttarakhand due to landslides and heavy rains.
- Dehradun: Due to heavy rains and storm in Dehradun, incidents of landslides have been reported in the hilly areas, similar situation will continue tomorrow also.
- Nainital: Due to continuous rains in Nainital district, the risk of landslides has increased and waterlogging may occur in low-lying areas.
- Chamoli: In Chamoli, roads are closed due to landslides in the mountains and lightning continues continuously.
- Pithoragarh: There is a flood like situation in Pithoragarh due to strong storm and torrential rains, due to which the rivers and drains are in spate.

Rivers and drains are in spate due to heavy rains in many areas of Madhya Pradesh.
- Reva: An alert of lightning and heavy rain has been issued in Rewa district, where low-lying areas have been waterlogged.
- Emerald: Torrential rains have created a flood like situation in Panna area and the problem of water logging in rural areas has increased significantly.
- Chhatarpur: Due to strong storm and torrential rains in Chhatarpur, life has become disrupted and many roads have been submerged in water.
- Satna: Due to heavy rains in Satna, drains have overflowed, causing flood crisis.
Shadow of cyclone in Odisha
Torrential rains in Odisha and rising waves in coastal areas have increased the concern.

- Jamshedpur: Due to strong storm and rain in Jamshedpur, low-lying areas have been flooded and electricity services have been disrupted.
- Dhanbad: Heavy rain with lightning and strong winds has been recorded in Dhanbad.
- Dumka: Due to rain in Dumka, the water level of the river has increased and the danger of flood remains constant.

After continuous rains in Bihar, rivers in many districts have reached near the danger mark.
- Patna: Intermittent rains in Patna are causing waterlogging in low-lying areas. The same situation will continue tomorrow also.
- Went: A sharp drop in temperature has been recorded in Gaya district due to strong winds, lightning and rain.

There is relief from heavy rain in the capital and surrounding areas, but the humidity will trouble.
- Delhi: The sky will be light to moderately cloudy in the capital. There is less chance of heavy rain, but due to slow wind speed, extreme humidity and heat will trouble people.
- Noida (Uttar Pradesh): The weather in Noida will be mainly clear to partly cloudy. With the rain stopping, the temperature will rise and we will have to face humidity along with strong sunlight in the afternoon.
- Greater Noida (Uttar Pradesh): The game of sun and shade will continue throughout the day in Greater Noida. There is little chance of rain, which will increase humidity and humidity levels and the maximum temperature may cross 35°C.
- Ghaziabad (Uttar Pradesh): There is no alert of heavy rain in Ghaziabad. There may be light clouds in the sky, but due to slow wind speed, there will be heavy humidity and scorching heat throughout the day.
