Commissioner, Food Safety and Drug Administration, Lucknow's letter dated 21.08.2026, in which, in view of the upcoming festival of Raksha Bandhan, collecting notification for effective prevention of adulteration in order to provide quality food and beverages to the general public such as Khowa, Paneer, sweets made from milk and milk products, Bundi laddus, all types of sweets and other food items, dated 21.08.2026. Food Safety and Drugs for the purpose of running a special enforcement campaign till 27.08.2026
Taking action by the team of Administration Department on 27.08.2026, a sample of food item Chhena Rasgulla was collected from the establishment Umang Sweets located at Duddhi Bazaar, a sample of food item Milk Cake from the establishment Bhagshree, a sample of food item-Kalakand Sweets from the establishment Alvela Sweets, a sample of food item-Milk Cake from the establishment Bhagshree, and a sample of food item Bandi Ka Laddu from the shop of Establishment Sonal. Also, one sample each of food item – turmeric powder and food item – lach chilli powder was collected from Mehak Enterprises located at Obra Bazaar. All the collected samples are being sent to the food analyst for testing.
After receiving the report of the food analyst, necessary further action will be taken as per the rules under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006. Apart from this, the team made the general public aware about adulterated food items. Food safety officers Pramod Kumar Yadav, Balendu Shekhar Mangalmurthy and Kirti Anand were included in the team.
