'Do as much torture as you can…' Abhishek Banerjee gave an open challenge to BJP

Tezzbuzz Desk – Trinamool Congress national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee has strongly attacked BJP over the controversy over the removal of the billboard of his office on Camac Street. In a program organized on the occasion of foundation day of TMCP, he challenged BJP and said that they can harass them as much as they want, but they are not going to back down.

Abhishek Banerjee said from the stage, “I will tell BJP to torture me as much as they can. I will not lose until I die. There will be a fight.” After his statement, political rhetoric has intensified.

KMC team had arrived to remove the billboard

In fact, on Thursday afternoon a situation of tension had arisen over the removal of the billboard of Abhishek Banerjee's Camac Street office. KMC employees had come along with the police to remove the billboard. This was allegedly declared illegal by the Municipal Corporation.

During the removal of the billboard, a scuffle allegedly broke out between Abhishek Banerjee's office staff, police and Municipal Corporation employees. Abhishek Banerjee alleged that the notice to remove the billboard was not valid as there was no stamp on it. However, the billboard was removed around 5:45 pm.

'Will not allow even a single traitor to return to TMC'

In the rally organized on the foundation day of TMCP, Abhishek Banerjee also targeted the leaders who left the party and went to other places. He said that Trinamool Congress will not give place to such leaders in the party again.

“We will not allow even a single traitor to return to the Trinamool Congress,” he said. Referring to the power of students and youth, Abhishek said that they have forced the landlords of Delhi to bow before the power of youth.

Abhishek Banerjee also mentioned the Lakshmi Bhandar Scheme of the West Bengal Government. He claimed that the state government has provided assistance to about 2.5 crore women under this scheme. He also raised questions on the Annapurna scheme of the BJP government.

13 arrested in billboard dispute

So far, information about the arrest of 13 people in connection with the billboard controversy has come to light. A total of three cases have been registered in the matter and several non-bailable sections have also been imposed.
