New Delhi. More than 2.63 lakh candidates took part in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-PG)-2026 conducted for admission to postgraduate medical courses, but the examination could not be completed due to power supply disruption at two examination centers in Jaipur, Rajasthan. The officers provided this information.
According to a circular issued by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMAS), re-examination will be conducted for the affected candidates on September 5 at 3 pm in Jaipur.
The Health Ministry said that the examination of 2,445 candidates could not be completed due to internal problem in power supply caused by the examination conducting agency and technical partner TCS Limited at two ION Digital Zone centers located in Sitapura, Jaipur. The affected centers are ION Digital Zone IDZ Sitapura (Exam Center No. 41682 & 41683).
The board said that related information including the venue of re-examination and changed admit card will be given separately. The ministry said that the NEET-PG exam was to be conducted for 2,73,096 candidates at 1,111 examination centers in 339 cities across 36 states and union territories.
A total of 2,65,980 candidates appeared for NEET-PG and around 2,63,535 candidates appeared for the exam successfully. The ministry informed that extensive real-time monitoring and stringent security measures were put in place for the nationwide examination.
A total of 2,527 medical teachers were appointed as independent evaluators to monitor the examination process. Additionally, more than 700 senior medical teachers, including deans, directors, medical superintendents and senior professors, were deployed as members of the flying squad. The ministry informed that 16 NBEMS regional commands were set up across the country to strengthen coordination and monitoring.
The examination centers were also monitored in real time with the help of CCTV. Constant monitoring was being done from the headquarters of NBEMS Command Center in Dwarka. A dedicated team of 190 personnel from NBEMS and TCS was deployed to monitor and supervise the footage obtained from CCTV.
