Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan has emphasized the importance of Dharma, truth and moral values in strengthening society, saying that a nation and its people can attain greater heights of progress by making these principles the foundation of their conduct.
Sandhwan was addressing a seminar on 'Our Social Responsibility' organized at Shri Amriteshwar Mahadev Mandir in Sector 89, Mohali, on Sunday evening. The program followed the completion of Rudrabhishek and religious observances held during the holy month of Sawan under the patronage of Swami Sampoorna Nand Brahmachari.
The Speaker said giving primacy to Dharma in one's conduct was among the most important responsibilities in life. He maintained that Dharma could provide the right direction to politics and help preserve social unity.
He said conduct rooted in truth, purity and moral values would enable people to contribute to India's progress while helping Punjab regain greater heights of development and prosperity.
Sandhwan also stressed that promoting brotherhood, unity, harmony and human values was a collective responsibility. According to him, a strong and prosperous society could be built only through adherence to truth, service, honesty and humanity.
He called for greater emphasis on these values in public and social life, saying they were essential for maintaining cohesion within society.
Mohali MLA Kulwant Singh and Advisor to the Punjab Tourism and Heritage Board Deepak Bali were also present at the seminar along with Sandhwan.
