Sonali Kulkarni's decision to play the role of a mother

Sonali Kulkarni played the role of Salman Khan's mother in the film 'Bharat' released in 2019. There was discussion about their casting because there was a difference of only nine years between the two. Recently Sonali told why she accepted this role and how was her experience with Salman.

Why did you accept the role of mother?

Sonali shared that initially she had refused to play this character. But, director Ali Abbas Zafar and casting director Mukesh Chhabra convinced her that she would be suitable for the flashback scenes. After realizing this, Sonali took it as a challenge and agreed to play the role.

Experience of friendship with Salman Khan

Sonali told that her and Salman's friendship deepened on the sets of 'Bharat'. He described Salman as a humble person and said that one can learn from him how to behave well with people. Apart from this, Salman also gave her his bicycle to ride, which impressed her a lot.


No regrets about the character

Sonali clarified that she has no regrets on playing the role of Salman's mother. Most of her scenes in the film were with the child playing the character of Chhota Bharat. He also told that he got good fees from the film produced by Salman and also got a chance to see Katrina Kaif's live dance.
