Several Dead in Kaushambi Firecracker Factory Explosion

As many as seven people are feared dead and around 24 injured after a massive explosion ripped through a firecracker factory in Mahmoodpur under Pipri police station limits of Uttar Pradesh’s Kaushambi district.

The blast caused widespread damage, with three houses reportedly catching fire. Rescue teams rushed to the scene, and several injured victims were shifted to the Trauma Centre of SRN Hospital in Prayagraj for treatment. Among them, a woman with severe injuries has been admitted for intensive care.

A heavy police force, led by Circle Officer Shivang Singh, has been deployed at the site. District Magistrate Amit Pal Sharma confirmed that four fire brigade vehicles and ambulances were dispatched immediately. So far, five people have been rescued and provided emergency care.

Initial investigations suggest that the firecracker stockpile triggered the blast, though officials are yet to confirm the exact cause.
