While pressing clothes, sometimes due to high temperature the cloth sticks to the bottom plate of the press. This leaves black and burnt marks on the press plate. Initially these stains appear small, but with time a layer of dirt and burnt clothes accumulates on them.
If the press is not cleaned on time, the same soot may stick to the next garment. This not only spoils the clean clothes but also starts giving off a burning smell from the press. If the plate of your press has also turned black, then it can be cleaned with the help of some easy home methods.
Number 1- Clean the press with salt
Salt can be used to remove light soot on the press plate. For this, first of all the press lukewarm without steam Do it. After this, switch off the switch and remove the plug.
Now spread adequate amount of salt on a wooden board or thick cloth. Move the slightly heated press in circular motions very carefully over the salt for about a minute. If the salt starts turning black, you can replace it and repeat the process.
After cleaning, allow the press to cool completely and thoroughly clean the salt and dirt left on the plate with a microfiber cloth.
Number 2- Remove burnt marks with baking soda
Baking soda can also be used to clean the dirt and burnt stains on the press plate. for this 2 parts baking soda and 1 part water Mix and prepare a thick paste.
Now apply a thin layer of this paste on the press plate and rub it gently with the help of a clean, soft toothbrush. Take care that the paste does not go inside the steam holes of the press. After this, wipe the entire plate thoroughly with a wet microfiber cloth.
Number 3- Soot can also be removed with paracetamol.
Some people also use paracetamol tablets to remove stubborn dirt stuck on the press plate. For this, after slightly heating the press please remove the plug.
Now with the help of tweezers, gently rub the paracetamol tablet on the hot plate. The heat may cause the tablet to melt and help loosen the grime. After this, let the press cool down and clean the plate with a microfiber cloth.
However, it is important to take special care in this method. Do not touch the hot press directly with hands and keep hands away from the plate during cleaning.
