The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is set to hold a review meeting here on Thursday to discuss India’s immediate and long-term cricketing plans. Sources indicate that the team’s recent defeats in England and Ireland and preparations for the upcoming New Zealand tour are expected to be among the key talking points.
As reported earlier by Sports starsthe BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia, chief selector Ajit Agarkar and head coach Gautam Gambhir are expected to attend the meeting. BCCI chief executive officer Hemang Amin and other officials could also be present.
The review is likely to focus on India’s recent performances, as well as the team’s roadmap for the coming months. Particular attention will be paid to the proposed New Zealand tour in October-November, which will include three ODIs and three T20Is.
The fitness and availability of injured players is also expected to come up. The management is likely to discuss the status of key players and their workload, with the ODI World Cup in 2027 remaining an important consideration.
The meeting was initially scheduled for held last month, but it had to be postponed due to the team’s international commitments.
