Community police officers will be deployed in every police station of Bihar

Patna. A new system is going to be implemented in Bihar to create better coordination between the police and the general public. The Police Headquarters has decided to fix the responsibility of Community Police Officer in all the police stations of the state. Its main objective is to reduce the distance between the police and the public, understand local problems and take swift action on complaints.

According to the guidelines of the Police Headquarters, the SHO will be able to hand over this responsibility to any qualified officer of his team or an Additional SHO. This system will be monitored by the SP of the district and the functioning of community policing will be reviewed every month in the crime review meeting.

Separate register will be made in every police station

Community policing register will be prepared in every police station to keep record of programs and activities related to community policing. In this, details of programs conducted with the public and work done at the local level will be recorded.

Police will reach localities and villages

Beat policing will also be emphasized in the new system. Police officers will keep in touch with people in localities and villages, so that information related to problems and crimes can be received on time. There are also plans to hold regular meetings with representatives of schools, colleges, markets, banks and hospitals.

Special attention will be given to women and elderly

Special programs will be organized to address the problems related to women, children, elderly and deprived sections. The police will try to control local problems like drug addiction, cyber crime, land disputes and rumors with people's participation.

Action on taking donations, this is also clear in the guidelines

There will also be a ban on making public the personal and confidential information of citizens. Action will be taken against policemen who violate the rules.
