Delhi: Bangladesh has announced its T20 team for the Asian Games 2026. Experienced batsman Nazmul Hussain Shanto has returned to the team. Shanto, who recently led Bangladesh to a memorable win in the Darwin Test against Australia, has got a place in the 15-member team.
The Asian Games will be held in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan at the end of this month. Bangladesh will be seen entering this tournament with its full strength.
Liton Das will take command
The command of the team will once again be in the hands of Liton Das. Liton could not play in the recent home T20 series against Australia due to injury. After this, he was also not a part of the T20 series of Zimbabwe tour due to his commitments in the Lanka Premier League.

After Liton's return, wicketkeeper batsman Nurul Hasan has not got a place in the team. At the same time, Tauheed Hridoy, who captained the team in the T20 series against Zimbabwe, has been made the vice-captain.
Many changes in bowling also
Some players of the Bangladesh team that went on Zimbabwe tour have not been selected for the Asian Games. Fast bowlers Taskin Ahmed and Abdul Ghaffar Saqlain are out of the team. At the same time, Nahid Rana is still out of the team. He is recovering from a side strain injury.
However, Bangladesh's fast bowling attack still looks quite strong. Fast bowlers like Mustafizur Rahman, Shariful Islam and Hasan Mahmood are present in the team.

Bangladesh team will enter directly into quarter finals
Bangladesh will start its campaign in the Asian Games with the quarter-final match on 29 September. The team has been included in the four seeded teams, due to which it has got direct entry into the quarter-finals.

Apart from Bangladesh, India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka have also got direct place in the quarter finals. Now Bangladesh's eyes will be on capitalizing on this opportunity and performing brilliantly in the Asian Games.
