Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivkumar has given such a statement about the power of women, their sacrifice and leadership abilities which has given rise to a new discussion from political circles to the social level. During an event organized in Bengaluru, while referring to the characters of Ramayana, he described the character of Mother Sita as greater than Lord Rama. Through this statement, he has underlined the incomparable contribution of women in Indian society and history, and has also given the message that in the modern era, women should come into the mainstream of leadership in every field. At present, when many schemes are going on for women empowerment at the country and state level, then saying such things by a senior politician further strengthens the social status of women. The Government of Karnataka is continuously taking many welfare steps to make women economically self-reliant, and through this program those policies and priorities of the government were also strongly placed before the public. Mother Sita's sacrifice and inspiration of women power D.K. arrived in Bengaluru to inaugurate the fifth edition of 'Together We Grow – International Women Entrepreneurship Day' of 'Ubuntu Consortium of Women Entrepreneurship Association'. In his address, Shivkumar openly praised the struggle of women and their stamina. He said that women who set up businesses on their own despite all adverse circumstances and social challenges are no less than role models for the society. Giving the example of Ramayana, he said that the life of Mother Sita is a symbol of sacrifice, struggle and patience which inspires everyone. He believes that the character of Mata Sita is even greater and more inspiring than that of Lord Ram, as she displayed unparalleled fortitude while facing countless trials at every step. Today's women are also moving ahead with the same determination in their family and professional lives, hence it is very important to recognize and respect their strength. Women should come into leadership from Gram Panchayat to Parliament. During the program, the Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka advised women not to be limited to homes only, but inspired them to take leadership in politics, administration and business world. He said in clear words that women should come forward in leadership roles everywhere from the local level of Gram Panchayat to the Parliament of the country. A progressive society cannot be imagined without the active participation of women at every level of governance and administration. When women's creativity, their inherent potential and their determination are truly supported by access to capital, modern technology and markets, there is no limit to the growth they can create. It is the joint responsibility of the government and the society to create a conducive and safe environment in which the hidden talents of women can be fully developed and they can become an equal partner in the economic development of the country. The fate of women is changing due to the five guarantee schemes of the Congress government. Referring to the five major guarantee schemes being run by the Congress government of Karnataka to make women financially strong and move them forward on the path of self-reliance, D.K. Shivkumar reiterated the government's commitment. He said that under 'Shakti Yojana', women across the state are traveling completely free of cost in government buses, which has eased their travel and there has been an unprecedented increase in their self-confidence and self-reliance. Apart from this, through 'Griha Lakshmi Yojana', financial assistance of Rs 2,000 is being directly transferred to the bank accounts of about 1.22 crore women of Karnataka every month, which is providing them immense help in supporting their families and meeting their minor needs. Apart from these schemes, welfare schemes like 'Griha Jyoti', 'Anna Bhagya' and 'Yuva Nidhi' are also strengthening various sections of the society. The main objective of all these initiatives is to empower women on the social and economic front so that they are not left behind under any circumstances and can build a bright future on their own.
