New Delhi. Actor Darshan Jariwala has openly spoken after almost 23 years on the old allegations made by his wife and actress Apara Mehta. It has been a long time since their marriage but they have been living separately for the last several years. Now in an interview, Darshan has clarified the claims in which he was accused of leaving the house and calling his wife ugly. Darshan rejected these allegations and said that making derogatory comments about a woman's appearance is not a part of his nature.
In an interview given to Siddharth Kanan, Darshan said that he cannot call even an ordinary looking woman ugly. According to him, he always gives more importance to the inner nature of a person than his external appearance. Therefore such comments do not match his personality. Darshan also hinted that some of the things revealed after such a long time could be the result of memories changing. He also linked it to false memory.
Questioning the old allegations, Darshan also asked that when he and Apara have been living separately for 23 years, then why was there a need to bring up these incidents again after so long. Darshan said that Apara can say whatever she wants but he knows his truth. He alleged that the victim card was being played against him.
Darshan blamed changing priorities and circumstances for the breakup of his marriage. According to them, with time both their thinking and life priorities changed. During this time, his financial condition also deteriorated due to the failure of a business venture. Financial pressure and mutual differences increased the tension in the relationship and eventually both started living separately.
The actor also told that he had tried to get a divorce legally. He had also applied for divorce but at the last moment Apara refused to give his consent. After this, the court did not proceed with the divorce process and both remained legally husband and wife.
According to Darshan, when he left his house in Santa Cruz, he left most of his things for Apra and daughter. At that time he did not even have money to rent a new house. In such a situation, he made his living by staying at friends' houses for some time.
Regarding the upbringing of his daughter, Darshan also said something different from Apra's claim. He told that he is still in touch with his daughter. There is a conversation between the two and he also helps the daughter financially. Darshan says that as a father, his relationship with his daughter still remains intact.
Regarding his current life, Darshan said that he has moved forward from his past. He is in a relationship with interior designer Anahita Italia since 2010 and is happy in his current life. After speaking openly on the 23 year old relationship and allegations, Darshan Jariwala has made it clear that he now wants to leave his past behind and move forward in his life.
