Mamata Banerjee's nephew and Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Abhishek Banerjee has been on target since the BJP government came to power in West Bengal. He is continuously targeting the Shubhendu government of the state. He has raised serious questions regarding the vandalism in his party office and has demanded intervention from the Governor of Bengal.
Abhishek Banerjee posted a video on Twitter on Thursday (September 3) and said that this is what BJP has done to my party office early this morning. He further asked whether the Governor of West Bengal will take any action? Will the Union Home Minister take any action? Will PMO take any action? Or will they just keep ignoring?
TMC MP Banerjee, after seeking intervention from the Bengal Governor and PMO, has now sought justice from the judiciary. He said that now the time has come that the judiciary, especially the Calcutta High Court, should take serious cognizance of this situation and take steps to maintain the rule of law in West Bengal.
Regarding the Chief Minister of Bengal, he said that a direct question to Subhendu Adhikari – Why are you so afraid of Trinamool Congress and me that you have to adopt such tactics of intimidation? The TMC leader further said that if the opposition in West Bengal is to be treated like this through violence, vandalism and intimidation, then the Chief Minister has no moral right to continue in office and should resign.
Abhishek Banerjee said that this is not democracy, this is clearly political hooliganism. Those responsible for this should be ashamed and those who chose to remain silent should also be ashamed. He further said that every such action will be remembered. Every attack, every act of intimidation, every abuse of power, nothing will be forgotten.
