New Delhi: India has offered help in ending the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine from 24 February 2022. A statement related to this has been given by Indian Foreign Minister S Jaishankar during his visit to Ukraine. He has said that India is ready to help end the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine. The Foreign Minister's statement came while talking to journalists during his visit to Kiev on Thursday that India is ready to mediate if needed.

According to news agency Reuters, India's Foreign Minister S Jaishankar, who was present with Ukraine's Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiha, said that if India can help in any way, we are ready. He also told that there was a discussion between the two ministers about the attacks on commercial shipping in the Black Sea. Foreign Minister is on a visit to Ukraine
Foreign Minister Jaishankar is currently on a tour of Ukraine. During this, the Foreign Ministry said that he will hold bilateral talks with his Ukrainian counterpart Andriy Sibiha and Poland's Deputy Prime Minister Radoslaw Sikorski. In an official statement from the Ministry of External Affairs, it has been said that the purpose of this visit is to improve bilateral relations and to provide an opportunity to exchange views on regional developments and issues of mutual interest. The visit comes at a time when Indian sailors were killed and injured during the recent tensions between Russia and Ukraine in the Black Sea.

During the talks, we discussed the need for free navigation in the Black Sea and global food security. India is a global power. We welcome Prime Minister Modi's appeal in which he has said to move away from endless war and move towards ending war. Ukraine is ready for diplomacy. Apart from this, the Foreign Minister of Ukraine said that we have also discussed our bilateral cooperation. From infrastructure and pharmaceutical sectors to technological innovation and digitalisation, we are ready to unleash our full potential. We have agreed to convene our next Intergovernmental Commission, so that the best potential can be transformed into big projects of mutual benefit.
How many people have died in the war so far?
So far, 2 million soldiers have been killed or injured in the war between Ukraine and Russia that has been going on since February 2022. The report of the Center for Strategic and International Studies states that the total number of casualties of the Russian Army has reached 12 lakh. More than 5 lakh soldiers have been killed in these. At the same time, in Ukraine this figure is 5 to 6 lakh soldiers. Of these, one to one and a half lakh soldiers have died. At the same time, according to the UN report, more than 16 thousand civilians have lost their lives in the war so far. Also, more than 46,500 people have been injured.
