The next day, the party's Rajya Sabha MP Derek O'Brien also reached Shakespeare Sarani police station. According to the police, Abhishek Banerjee has been made an accused in two FIRs registered in this case. The names of some other people including Derek O'Brien and former MLA Humayun Kabir are also involved in the case. Mahua Moitra targeted the government and police on this action. He said that whenever the party leaders are called by the police, they will go for questioning, but the public is also watching the entire action.

Mahua Moitra sarcastically said that the police summons in the Camac Street case are 'love calls'. Whenever we are called so lovingly, we will go. They love us very much. Mahua also claimed that due to repeated questioning and summons, the public's attention is now shifting to how the police and the government are taking action. He said that ultimately its political loss may be to BJP only. Referring to his old interrogation, Mahua also raised questions on the working style of the police. He claimed that during interrogation in Nadia, a police officer had apologized to him regarding the room where he was made to sit.

However, police investigation is going on in this entire matter and the questioning of TMC leaders is being said to be part of the legal process. At present, Mahua Moitra's statement of 'loving call' has given a more political color to this controversy.
