Security forces are searching for another terrorist hiding in the same area
Srinagar. A terrorist was killed during a joint operation by the Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police on Friday in Budgam district of Jammu and Kashmir. The officers provided this information. According to officials, the operation was launched after receiving information about movement of a group of suspected terrorists from Pakherpora in Pulwama district towards Yusmarg in Budgam.
Srinagar-based Army's Chinar Corps said in a post on social media platform
“The alert troops observed suspicious activity and when challenged, the terrorists opened fire,” the post said. In the fierce encounter that followed, one terrorist was killed and an AK rifle was recovered. The search operation is going on.
Officials said the operation is still going on as security forces are searching for another terrorist hiding in the same area. He said that the identity of the killed terrorist has not been established yet. This encounter took place after several months of peace in the valley.
