Shah Rukh Khan Underworld Threats: There was a deep connection between Bollywood and the underworld in the 80s and 90s. Farah Khan also told in an interview that many Bollywood stars have received threats from the underworld. Shahrukh Khan's name is also included in this, he too had received threats from the underworld. Recently, Bollywood director Sanjay Gupta told that when Shahrukh Khan was threatened by the underworld, he refused to bow down before the underworld. While talking about underworld threats to Bollywood in the podcast 'Hussain Zaidi Files', Sanjay Gupta said that in the 1990s, people of the underworld gang used to come and sit on the sets of films, come here and watch the shooting, say something to the actor or producer, they used to do everything. But Shahrukh Khan was the only person in Bollywood who clearly refused to bow down before the underworld. He told, 'Shah Rukh Khan was the only such person in Bollywood, at that time when he got the threat from the underworld, he clearly said that I will never do a picture and will never do a show. I am a Pathan, I want to shoot, kill me. I am not afraid of you. I will not work with you nor do shows for you. He actually earned their respect. They too might have felt that there was at least one person like this.
Sanjay Gupta also received threat from underworld
Apart from this, he shared an incident from the underworld that happened to him in 1992-93. When he was asked that you have made so many films on the underworld, have you ever encountered the underworld for the first time? On this he narrated an old story. He said, 'I was making a picture along with the film Aatish, whose name was Ramshastra. In Aatish, I had a fighter named Ravi Devan, who was a very good friend of mine and is still there today. At that time Ravi used to call him often. During that time, I lived in Khar with my mother on the 14th floor. One day I went to take bath in the morning. At that time my mother told me that a call had come from someone from my maternal grandfather. He said I will talk later. He called again, after that he said that I am calling Nana, he asked what name, then the reply came from there that I am calling Chhota Rajan.
She further added that initially she thought Ravi Devan was joking with her as she wondered why Chhota Raja would call her. He told, 'I told him that I am calling Bada Rajan. After which Chhota Rajan started abusing him. Later this whole thing spread in the entire industry and he got a call from someone in the film industry saying that you said Nana the wrong way, you don't know he is Nana. Now it's yours. Sanjay was very frightened by this incident because he was staying with his family.
Asked for help from Sanjay Dutt
After this he called Sanjay Dutt, Sanjay was also out on bail at that time. He told Sanjay the whole incident and said, 'Take me out of my house, right now because he was saying that the boys have come out in a taxi. After this, Sanjay Dutt sent his father Sunil Dutt's official MP car outside my house with the entire convoy, after which we ran away from there by car. However, we did not know whether he was there or not. Further he said, I reached Sanjay's house and said Sanju, what should I do now? On this Sanjay said, what can you do and what can I do, I myself am in trouble. After this he narrated the entire story that Aditya Pancholi had done all this to get a good role in a film. After which this whole matter somehow ended.
