Maruti Suzuki Baleno Facelift: Automobile Desk: With the intention of strengthening its hold in the premium hatchback market, Maruti Suzuki has launched the new facelift model of Baleno in the market. Coming at a starting ex-showroom price of ₹ 6.10 lakh, this car has been given many major updates related to style, cabin and safety. The company has started its official booking at NEXA dealerships across the country. The biggest feature of this new model is the Level-2 ADAS and new 3-cylinder petrol engine.

The front look of the new Baleno now looks bolder and sporty than before. A new large grill has been provided on the front, in which black horizontal slats can be seen. Along with this, the redesigned bumper and fog lamp housing give the car great road presence.
Apart from this, the car has slim LED headlamps, new 16-inch alloy wheels, chrome elements and shark-fin antenna on the roof. Talking about the rear part, there have been slight changes in the tail-lights and rear bumper. A new 'Anigmatic Teal' shade has also been added to the color options.

Modern features are felt as soon as you sit inside the car. However, the basic layout of the dashboard has remained the same. It has a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which connects wirelessly Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Clarion audio system has been installed for music lovers.
To make the journey comfortable, facilities like ventilated front seats, wireless charger, 360-degree camera and head-up display (HUD) have been provided. Features like automatic climate control, rear AC vents and push-button start/stop make the cabin practical.
Big step in safety
In terms of safety, this car seems to be setting a new benchmark in its segment. For the first time, it has got radar and camera based Level-2 ADAS technology. Under this, features like adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist and automatic emergency braking work.
Also, 6 airbags, ABS, EBD, ESC, hill-hold assist and TPMS have been kept standard in all variants.
Engine and Transmission
For performance, the new Baleno has a 1.2-litre Z12E naturally aspirated 3-cylinder petrol engine. It comes with 5-speed manual and AMT gearbox options. There is also a factory-fitted CNG option for those looking for better mileage. It is a matter of relief that this time the facility to choose AMT (automatic) has been given in CNG model also. In the Indian market, it will compete directly with vehicles like Tata Altroz and Hyundai i20.
