Patna: Amid the activation of monsoon in Bihar, a warning of heavy rain has been issued in five districts on September 7. According to Meteorological Centre, Patna, there may be heavy rain in Darbhanga, Madhubani, Samastipur, Sitamarhi and Supaul. There is a possibility of strong winds at a speed of 30-40 km per hour along with thunderstorms in North-West and North-Central Bihar.
Alert of heavy rain in five districts on September 7
Monsoon activities are likely to continue in Bihar for the next seven days. According to the latest bulletin of Meteorological Centre, Patna, during this period, many parts of the state may witness rain along with thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds.
On Monday, September 7, heavy rain has been predicted at one or two places in Darbhanga, Madhubani, Samastipur, Sitamarhi and Supaul. Along with this, there may be thunderstorms and strong winds in many areas of North-West and North-Central Bihar.
Effect of low pressure in south-west Uttar Pradesh
According to the Meteorological Department, a low pressure area remains over south-west Uttar Pradesh and its surrounding areas. Apart from this, the influence of monsoon trough and cyclonic circulation also remains.
Due to these weather conditions, there is a possibility of increase in humidity and intensification of rain activities in the northern and eastern parts of Bihar. Strong winds at a speed of 30 to 40 km per hour are expected in many districts.
Heavy rain occurred in these districts on September 6
On September 6, there was a possibility of heavy rain at one or two places in Araria, Katihar and Kishanganj. Sangrampur recorded maximum rainfall of 73.2 mm in the last 24 hours. 68.1 mm rainfall was recorded in Patna Airport, 67.6 mm in Rajoun, 64.4 mm in Saraiya and 63.2 mm in Phulwarisharif.
During this period, the maximum temperature recorded in Bhabua (Kaimur) was 36.9 degrees Celsius. Whereas in Dholi of Muzaffarpur, strong wind blew at a speed of 52 km per hour.
Appeal to be cautious during thunderstorms
The Meteorological Department has appealed to the people to be cautious during rain and thunder. People have been advised to avoid going near open fields, tall trees and electric poles.
During thunderstorms or heavy rains, people have been asked to take shelter in a safe permanent building.
