New Delhi: Earthquake tremors were felt here on Sunday, about 10 days after the flash flood in Nepal. Light tremors of low intensity were recorded here on Sunday evening. According to the National Center for Seismology (NCS), the intensity of the earthquake has been measured at 3.8 on the Richter scale. According to NCS, the earthquake occurred on Sunday (September 6) at 6:59 minutes and 47 seconds. Its center was located in Nepal at 27.747 degrees north latitude and 86.163 degrees east longitude. The depth of the earthquake was recorded about 20 kilometers below the ground. At present, there is no information about any loss of life or property due to the earthquake.
Earthquake also occurred on 27th August
Let us tell you that such an earthquake of light intensity has occurred in Nepal for the second time after the flash flood devastation. Earlier on August 27, an earthquake of 3.2 magnitude on the Richter scale was recorded. No major damage was reported due to this shock, however, this incident happened at a time when the low-lying areas were facing the threat of another flood due to the formation of a new lake near the Bhotekoshi river.
The number of dead is continuously increasing
Let us tell you that after last week's disaster in Nepal, the number of deaths is continuously increasing. According to the latest data of Nepal Police, so far 1,344 people have lost their lives in the flood. Flash floods that occurred last week badly affected many villages and towns in northern and central Nepal. The search for people is still going on amidst debris and mud in many areas.
The biggest challenge amid the devastation is to find those people who may still be trapped under the debris and mud. Keeping this in view, India has sent an 11-member NDRF technical team to Nepal. This team, along with local rescue teams, is conducting search operations in those places where people are feared to be buried.
