A case of destitute cattle falling ill has come to light in Kotki village of Tehsil Tundla area. According to the villagers, many cows are roaming in pain in the village suffering from symptoms of serious diseases like foot-and-mouth and lumpy virus. Due to not getting timely treatment and vaccination, their condition is continuously worsening.
Villagers allege that despite informing the veterinary department for the treatment of sick cattle, neither regular treatment is being done nor vaccination arrangements are visible. Villagers also say that attempts were made to contact the concerned veterinarians on phone, but many times the calls are not picked up.
The villagers are angry after seeing the condition of the sick and destitute cattle. He says that if the veterinary department team does not reach the village in time and arrange for examination, treatment, necessary medicines and vaccination of the sick cattle, then the situation can become more serious.
The villagers have taken immediate cognizance of the District Magistrate, Chief Veterinary Officer and concerned administrative officers and have demanded to send a team of veterinarians to Kotki village, so that the sick cattle can be treated and the disease can be prevented from spreading to other cattle. The villagers demand that the responsible department should reach the spot and investigate the situation and if any negligence is found, necessary action should be taken.
