Pietersen’s first responsibility as a mentor will be seen in the series against Sri Lanka. A series of three T20 Internationals and three ODI matches is to be played between England and Sri Lanka from September 15.
Let us tell you that Peterson also has good experience in coaching and mentoring. He has played the role of coach and mentor with Delhi Capitals in IPL. Apart from this, he also worked with the England batting unit for some time during the series against South Africa in 2023.
Pietersen’s experience can be very useful in preparing the England team for the 2027 ODI World Cup. Especially his experience with the batsmen and his understanding of handling pressure in big matches can be very beneficial for the young players of the team.
Kevin Pietersen’s international career was like this
Kevin Pietersen played international cricket for England from 2004 to 2014. During this period, he made his mark in all three formats and was among the most successful batsmen of England. Pietersen played 104 Tests, 136 ODIs and 37 T20 International matches for England. He has 8181 runs in Test cricket, 4440 runs in ODI and 1176 runs in T20 International.
Now, almost a decade after his retirement from international cricket, Pietersen will again be seen in an important role with the England cricket team.
