MP from Munger, Bihar and Union Minister Lalan Singh reached Munger on Sunday on a one-day visit. In the public dialogue program organized in the Municipal Council area, he listened to the problems of the people and assured to make every possible effort to solve them. During this, he also expressed his views regarding the flood situation in Bihar. Lalan Singh said that floods occur every year and it is not a new thing. His statement is now going viral on social media.
Talking to journalists, the Union Minister said that it is the responsibility of the public representatives to go among the people from time to time, listen to their problems and try to solve them. He said that he is also fulfilling this responsibility. On the flood situation, he said that this time the water level of Ganga has increased slightly but in 2016 the water level was even higher than this.

Lalan Singh talked about review meeting
Lalan Singh said that the situation will be reviewed by holding a meeting with the District Magistrate regarding the flood situation. In the discussion with the officials, it will be seen what steps can be taken by the government for the flood affected people. He said that necessary suggestions will also be given after the meeting, so that relief can be provided to the affected people. He said that floods are a problem that occurs every year in Bihar. In such a situation, the administration and public representatives will have to keep an eye on the situation and focus on providing necessary help to the affected areas.
The Union Minister also described the problem of drinking water in Munger and Jamalpur as a major issue. He said that this problem has been discussed with the Chief Minister. On the instructions of the Chief Minister, the BUCo team surveyed all the wards of both the cities and prepared its report.

Projects worth crores got approval
According to Lalan Singh, a plan worth Rs 177 crore has been approved to improve the drinking water system in Munger city. A drinking water scheme worth Rs 102 crore has been approved for Jamalpur. The tender process of both the schemes is currently going on. He said that after the implementation of the schemes, people of Munger and Jamalpur are expected to get relief from the problem of drinking water. Also, necessary steps will be taken in coordination with the administration regarding the flood situation.
