Mumbai: Parineeti Chopra is set to make her web series debut with Shaque: Trust No One, a mystery thriller that will premiere on Netflix on September 24. The series follows a mother’s relentless nine-year search for her missing child, only to confront a disturbing truth that makes her question the people closest to her.
Created by Rensil D’Silva and Siddharth P Malhotra and directed by D’Silva, the series is backed by Alchemy Films. It explores the fragile boundaries between trust and suspicion, instinct and truth, and love and obsession.
Parineeti Chopra leads mystery thriller
Chopra plays a mother who refuses to give up despite spending nine years searching for her missing child. Her pursuit of answers forms the emotional core of the series, while the mystery surrounding the disappearance gradually draws her into a web of complicated relationships and hidden secrets.
As new clues begin to emerge, the protagonist is forced to reconsider what she believes about the people around her. The central question of the series revolves around whether someone can continue trusting those closest to them when every relationship begins to raise doubts.
The makers have positioned Shaque: Trust No One as an emotional crime drama with strong thriller elements, combining the personal journey of motherhood with an increasingly tense mystery.
Netflix promises a layered thriller
Tanya Bami, Series Head, Netflix India, described the series as a gripping emotional crime drama centred on a mother’s determination to find her child.
She said the story moves between the emotional intensity of the search and the suspense of a tightly woven thriller. According to Bami, the characters and their individual conflicts and secrets constantly alter the audience’s understanding of the events.
She also highlighted the show’s ensemble cast, which includes Parineeti Chopra, Jennifer Winget, Soni Razdan and Harleen Sethi, along with Tahir Raj Bhasin, Sumeet Vyas and Anup Soni.
Netflix has collaborated with Siddharth P Malhotra again, while the project marks Rensil D’Silva’s Netflix debut.

Creator and producer Siddharth P Malhotra said he was immediately drawn to the story when D’Silva narrated it to him.
Malhotra described Shaque: Trust No One as a fast-paced and emotional thriller featuring complex relationships, unexpected twists and a constant sense of being close to the truth.
He said the story begins with a mother’s search for her missing child but gradually expands into an exploration of the secrets and relationships surrounding her.
According to Malhotra, the series examines what happens when people who are instinctively trusted become the very people who are questioned. He also described motherhood, instinct and resilience as key elements beneath the show’s mystery and suspense.
Malhotra, who has previously been associated with Tribhanga, Maharaj and Ikka, said he was proud to bring the new series to Netflix.
Rensil D’Silva builds thriller around uncertainty
Director and co-creator Rensil D’Silva said uncertainty is central to the series.
He explained that each revelation is intended to raise another question, while every relationship contains another layer waiting to be uncovered.
For D’Silva, the opportunity to tell a suspenseful story through the emotional journey of a mother who has spent nine years refusing to give up was particularly compelling.
The director said the team has attempted to create a world in which viewers are constantly encouraged to question what they see and whom they trust.
The show’s title itself reflects this central theme, with suspicion gradually becoming part of the protagonist’s search for the truth.

Alongside Chopra, the series features Soni Razdan, Anup Soni, Jennifer Winget, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Harleen Sethi, Dhruv Chowdhary and Sumeet Vyas.
