Nowadays, adulteration is found in most of the things sold in the market. Adulteration has started in everything from flour to gram flour. Many times corn flour is mixed in market packed gram flour which becomes difficult to identify. Due to this, gram flour does not get that taste and you have to pay more price also. Many times flour mixed with turmeric is also added to gram flour. At some places, rice flour is also mixed with gram flour. In such a situation, if you want to use pure gram flour then you can prepare it by grinding gram flour at home. You can prepare gram flour from gram dal at home by grinding it in a mixer. How to make gram flour from gram dal?
First step- Gram flour is prepared from gram pulses. To make gram flour, gram pulses should be without peel. You can buy gram pulses from the market. Now dry the lentils thoroughly so that the moisture gets removed. If there is no sunlight then roast the chana dal on low flame for 5 minutes while keeping it warm. Keep in mind that the color of the lentils should not change while roasting. Let the lentils cool.
Second step- Now take a mixer and the jar in which you grind spices. Add chana dal in the jar and grind it while stirring in the mixer. When the gram dal is ground well, turn off the mixer and take it out. Now filter the gram flour through a fine sieve. You have to grind all the chana dal in this manner. The thick pieces of chana dal that remain after filtering should be added while grinding next time.
Third step- You can choose how coarsely or finely you want to grind the gram flour as per your choice. Sieve the gram flour using the filter as per your requirement. Keep grinding all the pulses in this manner. Homemade pure gram flour is ready. You can prepare any favorite dish from it and eat it. When the gram flour comes to normal room temperature, store it in a glass jar.
