New Delhi . Bollywood actress and dancer Nora Fatehi is once again embroiled in a legal dispute. Dunes Aviation has filed a civil suit for defamation of Rs 3 crore against him. The matter pertains to his comments regarding a chartered aircraft during his journey from Mumbai to Jaipur in December last year. The company alleges that the actress' comments harmed its reputation and business.
According to the case, Nora Fatehi had made the video inside the Cessna Citation CJ2 aircraft while traveling from Mumbai to Jaipur. During this, he commented on the size of the plane and described it as small and like a toy. He also compared the plane to Lego. Later this video was shared on social media, after which this matter came into discussion.
Dunes Aviation says Nora Fatehi's comments had a widespread impact due to her popularity and large audience on social media. The company has claimed that a negative perception was created among the people about the aircraft and its services. Due to this, the reputation of the company was affected and business activities were also affected.
In the lawsuit filed by the company in the court, it has been claimed that after the controversial comments, bookings declined by about 15 to 20 percent. It has also been claimed that the number of bookings being canceled has also increased. The company has described Nora's comments as irresponsible and said that they were not based on adequate technical information, investigation or facts.
Dunes Aviation has also presented its stand before the court regarding the safety and legality of the aircraft. According to the company, the Cessna Citation CJ2 aircraft in question was in compliance with prescribed aviation standards. The company claims that the aircraft was fit for flight and was being operated under valid permission.
The airline says that negative comments made by a public figure about the aircraft could have an impact on the perception of its customers and potential passengers. On this basis, the company has demanded damages of Rs 3 crore to compensate for the alleged loss caused to its reputation, goodwill and business.
The lawsuit does not seek only financial compensation. The company has also requested the court to direct the removal of related social media posts and videos. Apart from this, a demand has also been made for a public clarification from Nora Fatehi.
The next hearing of the case will be held by senior civil judge of Gandhinagar, R. Agrawal's court appearance is scheduled for Sept. 25. At present this matter is in the judicial process and the final decision has not been taken on the allegations made by the company.
During the further hearing in the court, the direction of the case will be clear based on the arguments of both the parties and the available evidence. At present, this controversy is important for Nora Fatehi because a social media comment has now directly reached a legal claim for financial damages and defamation.
