Bangladesh to Kolkata Train : The season of melting of ice is about to come in India-Bangladesh relations. The suspended train service between the two countries can be started once again in the year 2024. At the same time, a positive change is gradually being seen in the diplomatic and bilateral relations between the two countries. According to reports, railway officials from Bangladesh and India will hold face-to-face talks in a two-day meeting to be held in Dhaka from Tuesday. The resumption of Maitri, Bandhan and Mithali Express trains is expected to be discussed in this meeting.

Let us tell you that these trains were stopped during the violent movement of students against the Sheikh Hasina government in the year 2024. After this, neither the relations between the two countries remained the same nor were the trains restored.
Which train services between India and Bangladesh?
Maitri Express: This train historically connects Dhaka to Kolkata.
Bandhan Express: This service runs between Khulna and Kolkata.
Mithali Express: This train connects Dhaka to New Jalpaiguri in West Bengal.
Apart from this, the agenda of the meetings also includes a proposal to start a new passenger train between Rajshahi and Kolkata, which is being considered by both the parties.

With the start of the new train service, passengers of both the countries can get another travel option. Bangladesh can also suggest changes in the route of Maitri Express running between Dhaka and Kolkata. Under this, there is a proposal to run the train from the new Padma Bridge instead of the old Jamuna Bridge.
