New Delhi: Air India flight AI-1717 coming from Delhi to Lucknow had to do a go-around just before landing at Amausi Airport in Lucknow. It is being told that Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi was also aboard the same plane and due to the sudden rise of the plane again, a situation of panic was created among the passengers for some time.
What happened during landing?
According to the information, the plane was coming down to land at Lucknow airport but just before landing, the plane's approach became unstable. Seeing the situation, the pilot decided to take the plane back to altitude instead of landing. As the plane started rising again, the passengers suddenly felt a strong jolt.
However, the pilot handled the situation, made a go-around of the aircraft and took a new approach for landing again. After this, the flight landed safely in the second attempt. The passengers heaved a sigh of relief after the plane landed safely on the runway.
What is the go-around process?
Go-around is a common safety procedure followed in aviation sector. Let us tell you, when the pilot finds the approach of the aircraft unstable during landing or the conditions do not appear safe, then he stops the landing and takes the aircraft up again.
