Bollywood actress Madhuri Dixit once went to a cinema hall wearing a burqa to watch her own film Tezaab and experience the audience's reaction to her hit song 'Ek Do Teen'.

During her appearance on The Kapil Sharma Showhost Kapil Sharma asked Madhuri if she had ever gone to a theater to watch one of her own films. The actress recalled the amusing incident and said she wanted to witness the craze for 'Ek Do Teen' firsthand.

“Yes, I went to watch my own movie. Actually, everyone said that the song 'Ek Do Teen', has become very popular. 'You don't know, it is so much fun in the theatre.' So I went to watch it in the Chandan Cinema; it is a single theatre. So I wanted to see it there,” she said.

Madhuri recalled that she entered the theater wearing a burqa and sat in the audience. However, the disguise soon became uncomfortable.

“I went inside wearing a burqa and sat down. Sometimes they used to switch off the AC there, so I started sweating in the burqa. I was waiting for the song 'Ek Do Teen', and as soon as it started, we were sitting in the front row; the coins started coming from the back and fell on our heads. We ran away from there,” she said.

Madhuri added that she initially believed the disguise would prevent anyone from recognizing her. However, she was surprised when people identified her as soon as she stepped out of the theater into the lobby and began saying, “Madhuri has come.”

Released in 1988, Tezaab was a romantic action film directed by N. Chandra. The film starred Madhuri Dixit and Anil Kapoor in the lead roles, with Anupam Kher, Chunky Panday, Kiran Kumar and Suresh Oberoi in supporting roles.

Released on November 11, 1988, Tezaab became the highest-grossing Hindi film of the year and enjoyed a golden-jubilee run in cinemas. The film's song 'Ek Do Teen' went on to become one of Madhuri's most popular songs and remains closely associated with her career.
