Delhi. India has reacted strongly to the news of Houthi attacks in Saudi Arabia and strongly condemned them. Houthi rebels have attacked several targets including the airport in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday. Iran-backed Houthi fighters targeted oil installations and some other civilian infrastructure. After these attacks, fears of further conflict in West Asia have deepened.
Houthi attacks unacceptable: India
Condemning the recent attacks by Houthi fighters on oil installations in Saudi Arabia, External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal on Wednesday said India condemned the attacks on Saudi Arabia's sovereign soil, especially the targeting of civilian and economic facilities. He said such attacks are “unacceptable” that undermine regional security and stability and threaten freedom of navigation in the Bab-el-Mandeb.
These attacks will affect regional security. Jaiswal said this in response to a question. These attacks on Saudi Arabia's oil facilities have come at a time when America has further tightened its economic sanctions on Iran. Houthi fighters mainly conduct their activities from Yemen.
