Vadodara: Big news has come out regarding India's own bullet train. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said on Tuesday that the first structure of the indigenous bullet train being built in the country has been completed and it has been sent for the testing process. It is expected that by May or June next year this train will hit the tracks for testing for the first time. After the successful testing, the journey of passengers is also going to be very fast. The distance from Vadodara to Mumbai can be covered by bullet train in about one and a half hours.
In the 'NaMo for Developed India' program, the Railway Minister said that the trial period of Bullet Train may last for about two to four months. After this the Prime Minister is expected to inaugurate the service. He said that this project is inspired by the Prime Minister's vision of a self-reliant India and is an important step towards the construction of high-speed trains in the country.
The first part may start next year
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has already said that the target has been set to start the Surat-Bilimora part of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad high-speed rail corridor next year. The construction work of this corridor is progressing rapidly and in many parts the work is progressing at a better pace than expected. The Mumbai-Ahmedabad high-speed rail project is among the largest and most ambitious transport projects in the country. High-speed rail travel is about to start in India from this corridor of about 508 kilometers long.
First test coach ready
The work related to train construction in the project has also reached an important stage. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav had recently said during the review of the construction work that the first test coach has been ready. This achievement is also special because along with high-speed rail, the technology and production capacity related to its construction is also being developed in India. Civil construction work is also going on in different parts of the corridor. According to the project, the construction of Vapi-Surat section is expected to be completed by December 2026.
