Health Desk. Liver is one of the most important organs of our body. It plays an important role in digestion, removal of harmful substances from the body and many important chemical processes. Liver cancer often does not give obvious symptoms in the initial stages, but as the disease progresses, some changes may appear in the body, which should not be ignored.
1. Rapid weight loss without reason
If weight is continuously decreasing without any change in diet or exercise, do not consider it normal. Sudden weight loss along with loss of appetite can be associated with many serious diseases including liver cancer.
2. Yellowing of eyes and skin
Yellowing of the whites of the eyes or skin can be a sign of jaundice. This can happen if bilirubin in the blood increases in liver cancer. However, there are many other causes of jaundice, so if it occurs continuously, medical examination is necessary.
3. Persistent pain or swelling in the stomach
Persistent pain in the upper abdomen, heaviness in the stomach, or unusual swelling can also be a sign of a liver problem. In some cases, swelling may also appear due to accumulation of water in the stomach.
4. Loss of appetite and weakness
Constant loss of appetite, feeling full after eating little, weakness and fatigue are also possible symptoms of liver cancer. However, these symptoms can also be seen in many common health problems.
5. Nausea, vomiting or change in stool color
Frequent nausea or vomiting and stool being lighter than normal or clay-like in color can also indicate serious liver problems. If such symptoms persist, it is important to consult a doctor.
