Uttarakhand News: Preparations have started on a large scale to change the appearance of government properties in Uttarakhand. According to the vision of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the state government is now emphasizing on the construction of such buildings which are not just brick and stone structures, but become an excellent example of modern technology, environmental protection and long utility. In this sequence, the State Property Department has rapidly progressed work on two big schemes. There is a plan to build a grand state guest house at Ratura in Rudraprayag district, while 48 new flats will be built for government employees at the Race Course in the capital Dehradun. In both the schemes, full care has been taken of the environment along with modern facilities.
State-of-the-art state guest house will be ready in Ratura
An estimated cost of about Rs 48.84 crore has been fixed for the new state guest house to be built in Ratura in the hilly area Rudraprayag. This project has been designed in such a way that it can meet the needs of many decades to come. This complex will not just be a place to stay, but will also serve as a strong communication center for governance and administration in the hilly region. The big hall to be built here will be made completely hi-tech, in which large-sized modern displays and excellent video conferencing systems will be present. With this, important government level meetings will be conducted directly from the mountain itself through modern communication mediums.
Environmental rules will be strictly followed
Keeping in view the delicate environment of the mountains, it has been decided to strictly follow all the rules in this construction work of Ratura. The executing agency Public Works Department has been clearly told that the distance of the construction site should be at least 200 meters from the river, so that the rules of the National Green Tribunal can be completely followed. Apart from this, it has also been made mandatory to include the related no objection certificate in the government files. To give a different and beautiful look to the identity of the building, a big and attractive logo will be placed on the main gate and the main building, so that its identity can be established from a distance.
48 new government houses will be built in Dehradun's race course.
New residential buildings will be constructed in place of the old and dilapidated Officers Colony located in the Race Course area of the capital Dehradun. A budget of approximately Rs 28.07 crore has been kept to build 48 new Category-3 houses on this vacant land. This step has been taken with the aim of providing modern and safe accommodation to government employees. The biggest feature of this project is that it has been decided to use such construction materials and finishing on the exterior of the buildings, so that in future one does not have to bear the heavy expense of frequent painting or repairs. This will significantly reduce the maintenance burden on the government treasury.
Rain water harvesting and green building will become an identity
This residential project of Dehradun will be completely adapted to green building standards to give it an environmentally friendly look. To save water and improve the ground water level in the campus, it has been made mandatory to install modern rain water harvesting system. With this system, rain water can be saved and reused. Apart from this, there are also preparations to install attractive name plates at the entrance to improve the beauty and identity of the entire colony. This system will provide an organized and beautiful look to the government colonies.
Strategy for balanced development of hills and plains
This initiative of the state government shows that construction work is no longer limited to mere formality. From Ratura in the mountains to Dehradun in the plains, government properties are being developed on the basis of modern technology, low maintenance and sustainable models. Secretary Housing and State Property Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar has clarified that under the leadership of the Chief Minister, full attention will be paid to transparency, quality and fixed deadlines in all these construction works. Besides, local architectural style will also be given prominence in the hilly areas so that the traditional identity of the state is maintained. In the coming time, these projects will come on the ground and present a new example of management of government assets.
