Samastipur Crime: 37-year-old Mithun Giri, in Samastipur district of Bihar, had left the house on Tuesday (September 08, 2026) telling his wife that he was going out for some work. When Mithun did not return home till late night, the restlessness of the wife as well as the family increased. During this time, the family members called friends and acquaintances to get information, but he was not found anywhere. When the restless family members searched on Wednesday (09 September) morning, Mithun Giri’s body was found on the banks of the dam. Immediately the family called the police. At first glance, there were injury marks on his body.
The family has accused the friend of murder on suspicion of having illicit relations with his wife. Meanwhile, the police have detained a woman and started further investigation. On Tuesday evening, a friend had called and taken him. Police investigation has revealed that on Tuesday evening, Mithun Giri had got ready after taking a bath and had left the house with his friend. The friend also came to take him home. Mithun Giri, son of Rampravesh Giri, resident of Musapur in Ghatho police station area, used to work as a laborer in Rajkot. He had returned to the village only a few days ago. Police revealed that on Tuesday evening his friend Awadhesh Giri had called him and took him with him. After this Mithun did not return. Now the police is taking Awadhesh Giri into custody and interrogating him. It is being told that Awadhesh Giri is also involved in the murder conspiracy.
According to sources, within a few meetings, Mithun Giri’s relationship with Awadhesh Giri’s wife was established. Meanwhile, when Awadhesh got information about this, he started hating Mithun and committed the murder. While Awadhesh’s wife is being interrogated, there was a stir in the surrounding area after Mithun Giri’s body was found on the banks of the dam on Wednesday morning. The suspicion of murder deepened after injury marks were found on the body. On information, FSL team along with police reached the spot and collected evidence from the spot. Meanwhile, after the dead body was found, the angry family members reached home and started creating ruckus. Villagers say that Awadhesh’s wife has been caught and handed over to the police. Police have taken him into custody and started questioning, the murder case will be revealed soon. Dalsinghsarai DSP Vivek Kumar also reached the spot.
He told that prima facie it has come to light that the murder was committed due to suspicion of illicit relationship. Awadhesh’s wife is being detained and interrogated.
