According to reports, Bangladesh PM Tariq Rahman made a big statement regarding not attending the BRICS summit to be held in New Delhi.

Bangladesh Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Humayun Kabir said on Thursday (10 September 2026) that Tariq Rahman was not invited to the two-day BRICS summit. However, he also said that Bangladesh will send one of its representatives to this summit. He clearly refused Tariq Rehman's visit to India.
Questions have been raised over Bangladesh's participation in the BRICS summit to be held in New Delhi. Bangladesh Foreign Affairs Minister has said that PM Tariq Rahman has not received the invitation. Instead, the invitation has been extended to the Chair of BIMSTEC.
